Reasons to be Cheerful Charity Raffle

Updated: Dec 5, 2021

We're super happy to announce that this year we're apart of "Reasons to be Cheerful" charity raffle! This raffle is raising funds for two amazing charities called "Papyrus" and "Ewan's Kind". Suicide is the leading cause of death in young people within the UK, after struggling from mental health issues last year in which I shared in one of my previous blog posts: "Depression & Me" I've been on a journey myself, confronting these thoughts and raising awareness therefore it seemed like no brainer when Reasons to be Cheerful contacted me, after I appeared in their "Make" Zine earlier this year to see if i'd like to contribute. I jumped at the chance and knew one of our pieces from our 'Hope Collection' would be the perfect prize.

"The Story Goes On..." ring was created roughly a year ago, looking for positive reminders I made this ring so I could look down at my hands whenever I was nervous, overwhelmed, sad and realise how far I had come. Semi-colons not only have the use of a punctuation mark but in more recent years have become associated with a message of affirmation and solidarity against suicide, depression, addiction and other mental health issues. With mental health issues on the rise, the rate of suicide is dramatically increasing. Through this ring I wanted anyone who wore it to feel empowered and a part of something, whether it would be a reminder to themselves that theirs more to life then hardships, or a sentimental reminder that those you've lost are always really with you.

World Suicide Prevention Awareness Day is on the 10th September. There are some absolutely amazing prizes to be won. The raffle will be drawn on the 11th September 2021 in which winners will be notified by email (from Reasons to be Cheerful).
